Last Day of Sibos Came with The Best Idea for FinTP

I know we kept nagging you these past Sibos days with “Take part in the FinTP Idea Contest”, “Don’t forget to share your idea”, “Vote your favorite FinTP Ideas” and so on. But it was not in vain. There were interesting ideas submitted in the competition and I just wanted to share with you some of the most appreciated ones:

  • Send USDs and EURs between banks using the Ripple protocol. Cryptocurrencies!!
  • Automate payments and B2B platform using FinTP in a local project.
  • Have a long structured remittance info
  • Push EBICS to Eastern Europe
  • Mobile money across global business currencies
  • Invent a standard
  • What about a “movable” account number – no matter what bank – and with “names” like websites?

There were even things we did not think of, so this contest was a very good idea in itself. But all ideas will be taken in front of the FINkers United board for further consideration. The board will select those fit to be planned for future releases of the FinTP Project.

Out of so many good ideas, one was ranked highest: Push EBICS to Eastern Europe. It belongs to Joachim Berg, EFiS, who now has to figure out how to use the techie watch we gave as an award.

With the already accustomed strange feeling that comes with the end of Sibos – somehow you are happy that all the stir and hard work are over, somehow sad to leave everyone behind and at the same time already eager for the Sibos next year – our daily reminder has to change as well. The contest might be over, but the concept of idea sharing lives on. And that is what FinTP is all about, sharing. So your contribution is welcome anytime.

Daily reminder from now until the next Sibos: don’t forget the FinTP project needs you and your contribution to achieve its final goal: to enable semantic standardization and to enhance cross industry financial business interoperability.

Farewell Boston, see you in Singapore!
